Granalta - Espadin + Tobasiche
Granalta Espadín + Tobasiche is a mezcal crafted by Maestro Mezcalero Miguel Martínez in San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca. This ensemble blends 80% Espadín and 20% Tobasiche agaves, resulting in a spirit with a nuanced and layered flavor profile. Earthy and smoky characteristics are complemented by subtle notes of wild herbs and fruit. The agaves are roasted in an earthen pit using mesquite and oak, crushed with a traditional tahona, fermented in cypress wood vats, and double-distilled in a copper pot still. Bottled at 46% ABV, it opens with grassy, herbal aromas alongside hints of cucumber, melon, and wet river rock. On the palate, it delivers roasted agave sweetness, vibrant vegetal tones, soft stone fruit, and a mineral finish, rounded out by a delicate touch of smoky ash.
