La Luna Black Label Cupreata 1L
La Luna Cupreata is an artisanal mezcal made from wild Cupreata agave, which flourishes in the rugged mountains of Michoacán. The agave is cooked in earthen pits with volcanic stones, crushed using a traditional tahona, fermented in open air with natural yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. Unaged and typically bottled around 46% ABV, each small batch is handcrafted without additives, preserving the bold and complex character of the spirit. On the nose, it presents fresh aromas of agave, green herbs, and tropical fruit, accompanied by earthy minerals, citrus zest, and soft smoke. The palate is rich and vegetal, with notes of roasted agave, pineapple, and white pepper. A smooth, slightly smoky finish carries hints of citrus and green pepper, making this mezcal a vibrant and expressive representation of Michoacán’s terroir.

La Luna Mezcal originates from one of the most abundant states in Mexico. From the sandy coast to the peaks of las sierras, Michoacán is filled with traditions, culture, and history. Part of that story continues on the lush landscapes surrounding La Luna in our traditional vinatas.
Produced in the verdant and mountainous regions of Michoacán, La Luna Mezcal highlights the craftsmanship of families and generations of practice producing artisanal and ancestral mezcal.
At elevations of over 2000 meters, the wild and semi-cultivated agaves are harvested under the moon after reaching full maturity. Shortly thereafter, the "piñas" are fire roasted in a stoned-lined earth put using estate sourced white oak. The cooked piñas are then macerated, fermented in open-air wood vats before being double distilled in a copper "cazo" and pinewood still or ancestrally in a clay pot still.
