Pasión Ancestral Becuela - Tobala
The Pasión Ancestral Becuela - Tobalá mezcal is made using traditional methods, such as hand-milling the cooked agave rather than using a mechanical shredder. A unique blend of Becuela and Tobalá maguey gives this mezcal a complex flavor profile with distinctive notes of chocolate, fruit, and spices, setting it apart from other smoky mezcals. The rare maguey Becuela, which takes 30 years to mature, is a key ingredient in this mezcal, not often found in the Santa Catarina Minas region.
In 1894, Grandfather Juan Colmenares (Juan Viejo) began to produce Mezcal Leno from the Palenque de la Presa located in Santa Catarina, Minas Duala. Pasion Ancestral was born to rescue the heritage and training of Mezcal, respecting and using the ancestral techniques and processes left to us by our ancestors, which have been preserved throughout the years so that we and future generations preserve our legacy.
