Tosba Dua Warash
$155.00
As rare as agave varieties come, Tosba’s project represents the first commercial bottling of Warash in mezcal history. “Dua Warash” is a local Zapotec term loosely translating to “local agave” or “agave from here” – named thus by Tosba’s pioneering maestro, Edgar Gonzalez, because the variety is unique to their Sierra Norte mountain home in San Cristobal Lachirioag. The agave grow big blooms with many leaves, similar to Agave Rhodacantha, but on a short stalk or stump, similar to Agave Karwinskii Barril. Edgar describes his mezcal as “tutti fruity” and this is one of his finest examples, full of rich tropical fruit, deep funk, and creamy texture.
