Vago Espadín
This small-batch, handcrafted mezcal is made from Espadín (a. Angustifolia) cultivated by the Jarquín family in the high elevations of Miahuatlán, Oaxaca. Known for producing vibrant and expressive spirits, the Jarquín family highlights a clean and balanced expression of Espadín in this release. The agave is traditionally cooked in an earthen pit with mesquite and oak, crushed with a tahona, fermented in open-air wooden vats with wild yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills using natural spring water.
Aromas reveal green herbs, fresh agave, and citrus zest, along with wet stone, light smoke, and peppery spice. On the palate, it’s crisp and mineral-driven, offering flavors of roasted agave, black pepper, and lime. The finish is dry, slightly smoky, and herbal with a lingering salinity. Bottled at 48–52% ABV depending on the batch, this mezcal contains no additives and reflects the purity of its highland origins.
